basic cityhoops league rules & regulations:
CityHoops League will be implementing a combination of NBA, FIBA, ABA, HIGH SCHOOL, & CityHoops game rules to make it more interesting and unique.
• 2- 20 minutes halves
• Last 1 min in 1st half stop clock and Last 2 mins in 2nd half- stop clock (Running time if spread is 11 or more points)
• 2 total timeouts for each halves and does not carry over.
• For Regular Season Games: 2 mins overtime with last 1 minute-stop clock for first OT; 1 min overtime thereafter with stop clock. Each team gets 1 time out each per OT and not carry over. Bonus shots will carry over to overtime. Maximum 3 OT and will result to a tie.
• For PlayOffs & Championship Games: 2 mins overtime with last 1 minute-stop clock for first OT; 1 min overtime thereafter with stop clock. Each team gets 1 time out each per OT and not carry over. Bonus shots will carry over to overtime.
• NO Half-court 4 points shot.
• Bonus 1-1 on 7th team foul, 2 free throws on 10th.
• 30 sec shot clock last 2 mins of 2nd half
• Once the ball had inbounded and coaches did not correctly substitute during the mandatory subs team will be charge an automatic time out.
GUARANTEED MINUTES PER PLAYER
• First half 10 minutes rule: All players including captain must play a minimum of 10 minutes straight in the first half without being substituted unless due to injury or 3 personal fouls (at the players or coaches request).
• Second half 5 minutes rule: All players including captain must play a minimum of 2 minutes straight in the second half without being substituted unless due to injury or 4 personal fouls (at the players or coaches request).
SPORTSMANSHIP
There will be consistent & universal enforcement of sporting behavior. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for taunting, trash talking, & baiting. The Commissioner has the right to suspend and revoke a player’s membership from the league due to reasons such as:
1. Constant Fighting and Disruption
2. Constant Unsportsmanlike conduct
3. Constant Disrespecting of league rules and policies, committees, and league staff including referees
4. Not getting along with players
5. Dis-Respecting our officials.
6. if a player throw a punch he will be ejected from the game and suspended for the rest of the season. In addition, his membership will be under review.
TECHNICAL FOULS RULES
• 3rd Technical Fouls in the season - 1 game suspension applies on regular season games, or playoffs, or championship.
• 5th Technical Fouls in the season - 2 games suspension applies on regular season games, or playoffs, or championship. And player's membership will be under review for the following season.
• These rule can carry over to the following seasons.
4 PLAYERS RULE
This rule applies when a team has only 4 players to start the game.
Any TEAM may start the game with 4 players but will give the opponent a 2 pts lead in the beginning of the game.
Furthermore, when a player has committed a 5th Foul (combination of personals & a direct technical) and leaves the TEAM with 3 players; GAME will be OVER. The opposite team will then be awarded with a WIN and +20 pts for the game; player will keep their stats.
PLAYER'S TO PLAY IN PLAYOFFS
Each Player must play a minimum of 25% or 10% (with an exception of injury, Covid-19 protocol, and commissioners decision) of total regular season games in order to qualify to play in playoffs.
PLAYER'S REPLACEMENT
If a Player is unable to continue to play the season due to injury or moving, the team is allowed to get a replacement on or before team's 3rd week game. On 4th week ALL Teams are NOT allowed to get a replacement. Player replacement will be the same position or the same skill level or lower (if different position) with coaches approval and final approval by the commissioners.
NO JERSEY RULE
Player's FIRST OFFENSE, Team will be awarded 2 points plus ball possession. Points will be given to the captain.
Player's SECOND OFFENSE, player is not allowed to play without jersey.
POLICY FOR LOST AND/OR DAMAGE PROVIDED JERSEY
Lost or damaged jersey will result a league fine of $200 dollars, this is how much it cost to replace the whole set. Or a player has an option to replace it himself or just pay the fine. So pls take care of the jersey!!!
